What can I do to keep my Centtrip account and cards secure?

Centtrip are committed to keeping your money safe and have a range of systems in place to help us detect and prevent fraud before it happens. However, fraudsters are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Please take a few extra precautions to keep your funds safe.

1) Protect Sensitive Information

PLEASE NEVER SHARE SENSITIVE INFORMATION OR SECURITY CODES.

Centtrip will NEVER ask you to -

  • Share personal, account or card details - by phone, email, SMS, chat, or by entering information into your phone.
  • Provide your 16 digit Centtrip card number. This number should only be used when making a purchase yourself.
  • Provide (or key-in) Centtrip security or verification codes sent to you by email, SMS or generated in the app.
  • Transfer money to another account which is not in your name.

Please be vigilant - fraudsters continually seek new ways to trick you into revealing sensitive information. If ever in doubt -

  • Ignore the message or end the call immediately.
  • Contact Centtrip directly using the details on our website, or speak to your Account Manager.

2) Take Our Fraud Awareness Course

We strongly recommend that all admin and cardholders complete our video-based Fraud Awareness Course. It takes just 2 minutes and will help you learn how to spot and avoid common fraud tactics.

START NOW.

3) Follow These Practical Steps

For Cardholders -

  • Treat cards like cash - keep cards safe from theft or loss. Never write down or share PINs, passwords, or card details. Do not photograph your card.
  • Lock cards when not in use - instantly lock cards via the app or desktop to block payments or withdrawals. Unlock them when needed.
  • Monitor card activity - check your transactions regularly. Lock your card and contact Centtrip immediately if you notice anything unusual.
  • Withdraw cash safely - use reputable ATMs. Find nearby chip-enabled ATMs with the Mastercard ATM locator. Always shield your PIN.
  • Block lost or stolen cards - immediately block any lost or stolen cards via the app, web, or phone. Report the loss so we can send a replacement.

For Administrators -

  • Transfer card funds as required - keep balances appropriate to expected spend — avoid holding excess funds. You can load card funds instantly, 24/7
  • Set transaction alerts - receive instant notifications for high-value or unusual spend by setting an alert
  • Monitor transactions - regularly check account and card activity to identify and act on anything suspicious.
  • Set sensible user limits - Super Administrators can tailor limits and permissions for each admin user. Always ensure user roles and limits are appropriate to their responsibilities. -
  • Implement payment approvals - set payment approvals for all users to ensure oversight before any funds are released.
  • Review & update user access - routinely audit user access and remove access for those who have left the organisation.
  • Set strong passwords - use unique, complex passwords and change them regularly. Never share login credentials.
  • Avoid public Wi-Fi for access - do not access the Centtrip app or platform using non-secure public Wi-Fi networks, such as those in cafés, trains, or co-working spaces. While there is no known vulnerability in Centtrip systems, this is good general security practice.
  • Secure your email account - if you receive login or verification codes via email, make sure your email account is protected with a strong, unique password. (Super Admins can also disable email as a verification option).
