What does it mean if a card spends from a shared balance?
Shared balance cards spend directly from the operating account balance. These cards are only available on our Centtrip Global platform
All cards linked to your Centtrip account fall into one of two categories, depending on your platform. Each card is set as one type or the other and this cannot be changed:
Centtrip Global:
Cards will be issued as either:
- Shared Balance Cards – These draw funds directly from the operating account, allowing spending from a shared balance.
- Pre-load Cards – These do not use the shared balance. Funds must be transferred onto each card from the account, which administrators can do instantly using Quick Transfer.
Centtrip UK:
- Only Pre-load (prepaid) Cards are available. These require funds to be transferred onto each card before spending and do not access a shared balance.
In all cases, card spend is subject to the limits set on the card and the account.
